THERE'S A PLACE IN HONDURAS WHERE IT RAINS FISH
Since 1998, and once a year, locals from Yoro, Honduras hold an annual festival called Festival de Lluvia de Peces.
It celebrates an interesting phenomenon: fish fall from the sky around June or July.

Animals falling from the sky is not unheard of, and the general explanation is that there’s a meteorological effect from the Atlantic Ocean about 140 miles away from Yoro. Another explanation is that they’re freshwater fish who swim from a river that floods and washed the fish out of their usual habit.

The folk explanation is that a Catholic missionary called Father Jose Manuel Subirana is the cause. He visited Honduras in the 1800s and upon encountering so many poor people, prayed for a miracle and God sent fish from the sky.
